Love this car, BUT
By Juan | on Saturday, November 30, 2019
I've had this car for about a year now. What I mostly love and enjoy about this car is its style, and overall "sexy" look. My car is all black, black rims, black leather interior, and black exterior. This is a fun car overall to own. What I dislike about the car is a few things. Firstly, I think the car lacks power. If I really want to feel power in this car, I'll have to drive it in Sports mode only. Also, it's not that good on gas. Lastly, I really dislike that the car has no storage. How does Lexus do this?! Not even a little compartment for your glasses? Come on Lexus, do better.… - 5.0
Great car and the buying experience was perfect
By CJEK1976Â |Â on Monday, October 07, 2013
Ive owned BMW's and Mercedes in the past. I traded in my 2011 Mercedes GLK, which i loved and gave me no problems. The one area that Lexus shines in customer service. I bought a silver IS first and the dealer actually took it back a week later to make me happy with the starfire pearl white. Unheard of and Lexus of New Orleans is second to none. As for the IS250, i have been thouroghly happy. The nuluxe interior feels much more like leather than the MB tex in my MB. The car is smooth, the engine is super quite and everything is placed out perfectly. The 2.5 is adequate and the design has garnered a bunch of attention and most has been very positive. I switched to Lexus so that i could keep a car past warrenty. BMW was the worst, MB was great and gave me no problem at all, but I did not feel comfortable outside of warrenty. Lexus reliability is why i moved over to Lexus. Hightly recommend the 2014 IS 250!… - 3.0
An Overpriced Car with A Lot Of Potential
By FirstLexusEver | on Wednesday, January 18, 2017
My review is for a 2014 Lexus IS 350 F-Sport and your mileage may vary. Quality/Reliability: I picked the Lexus IS 350 after driving Toyotas for 13 years. At the time, Lexus was rated for reliability as 66 defects per 100 cars, which was way lower than the 2nd place of 103 defects per 100 cars. Thus, I thought I had a real winner. I was wrong. I had ordered the car to my specifications and was at the dealership when it rolled off the truck. It had two scratches on the door, which I was shocked since Lexus paint jobs are usually pristine. I also thought this was going to be the worst. I was wrong. The chrome trim surrounding the amazing grill started to bubble within 3 months of ownership. It took 2 months to get Lexus to even SEE the issue because I needed a district manager to personally inspect it. Then it took 2 weeks to get the fix approved. I once again thought that this was going to be the worst of my issues... I was wrong. Within the first year, I had to replace the driver's side mirror because it had partially melted. I also had rust on the passenger's side undercarriage. I contacted the dealership and apparently, Lexus doesn't warranty against chassis rust. (The service guy also mentioned that this was a common rust spot.) After two years of ownership, I've had the car magically have a dead battery twice without any electronics being left on. I also have another replacement mirror coming. The navigation system will randomly shut off and go into an endless reboot loop. Overall, this is the worst car that I have ever purchased for quality and reliability. Between my family's cars and my own, this is the worst car I've had for sheer reliability. The only close second was a Toyota Highlander that had a pushrod problem at 100k miles. Value: Not very good here. The 6-speed transmission shifts like a dream but the fuel economy is abysmal compared to similar cars in its class. The F-Sport doesn't come with fog lights. You couldn't get AC seats in this version. Driving Dynamics: This car is amazing to drive. The grip of the tires, the roar of the engine, and the handling are simply intoxicating for thrill junkies. The traction control is nothing short of epic and seems to have endless capabilities of being able to help grab the road for accelerating through corners. The F-Sport dash is simply the best on the market. I love the display there and think it is fantastic. Design: Interior is beautiful. The dash is beautiful. The buttons are perfectly placed. The little mouse thingee is genius. (I hate people touching my screens.) Everyone loves looking at this car. Everyone compliments it. Comfort and Convenience: These are the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in in a car. I love them. The convenience gets knocked because the Lexus Entune software is utter garbage.…
